CHOOSING YOUR STAIRLIFT

Choosing the Right Stairlift for Your Old Trafford Home

We’re a family-run stairlift company covering Old Trafford and the surrounding area. You’ll deal with our own experienced team rather than a distant call centre, with straightforward advice from survey through to installation.

Choosing a stairlift isn’t simply a case of picking a model. The shape and width of your staircase, the space available at the top and bottom, your mobility and how you plan to use the lift all need to be considered.

A straight staircase will usually need a different solution from stairs with bends, corners or intermediate landings. Narrow staircases may need a more compact stairlift, while some homes require additional features to make getting on and off the lift easier and safer.

That’s why we start with a free home survey. We’ll assess your staircase, talk through what you need and explain the suitable options, including new, reconditioned and rental stairlifts. You’ll get a clear recommendation based on your home, your needs and your budget, without pressure to choose a particular model.

OUR STAIRLIFT RANGE

Stairlifts for Every Type of Old Trafford Home

From simple straight staircases to tight bends, narrow stairs and outdoor steps, we offer a range of stairlift options for homes in Old Trafford. We’ll help you compare the suitable options based on your staircase, mobility needs and budget rather than pushing you towards one particular type.

Straight Stairlifts

For staircases without bends or turns. A simple, reliable option with new and reconditioned models available.

Curved Stairlifts

Made to follow staircases with bends, corners or intermediate landings for a precise fit to your stairs.

Reconditioned Stairlifts

Professionally checked and prepared stairlifts offering a more affordable alternative to buying new.

Rental Stairlifts

A flexible option when you need a stairlift temporarily or would prefer to rent rather than purchase outright.

Narrow Stairlifts

Compact stairlift options designed for tighter staircases where available width and space are particularly important.

Outdoor Stairlifts

Weather-resistant stairlifts designed to make outdoor steps and changes in level easier to manage.

STAIRLIFTS IN Old Trafford

Stairlift Installation for Homes in Old Trafford

Choosing a stairlift for a home in Old Trafford depends on the layout of your staircase. Many homes here have different types of stairs, including straight, curved, or with landings. Narrower stairs or those with turns can affect which stairlift is suitable. During our free home survey, we measure your staircase carefully to find the best fit. This way, we can recommend the right model based on your actual staircase, not assumptions about typical properties in the area.

Our team installs all stairlifts professionally and efficiently. Whether you need a new, reconditioned or rental model, we offer options for straight or curved stairs. The survey ensures your stairlift works smoothly and safely within your available space. We focus on making sure your stairlift fits perfectly and gives you confidence moving around your home again.

CLEAR, HONEST PRICING

How Much Does a Stairlift Cost in Old Trafford?

We believe you should have a realistic idea of cost before arranging a survey. Stairlift prices depend on the type of lift you need, whether you choose new or reconditioned and, for curved stairlifts, the individual shape and length of your staircase. Here are our current starting prices to give you a clear idea of what to expect.

RECONDITIONED STRAIGHT

£1,100

A professionally prepared reconditioned stairlift for a straight staircase.

NEW STRAIGHT STAIRLIFT

£2,100

A brand-new straight stairlift, professionally supplied and installed.

RECONDITIONED CURVED

£4,000

For staircases with bends, turns or landings. Final cost depends on the individual staircase.

NEW CURVED STAIRLIFT

from £6,000

A new curved stairlift configured specifically for the shape and layout of your staircase.

STAIRLIFT RENTAL (STRAIGHT)

£600 inc. installation & your first 3 months

After the first three months, rental is £60 per month for as long as you need the stairlift. When you no longer need it, removal is free.

Your exact price will be confirmed following a free home survey. For curved stairlifts in particular, the final cost depends on factors such as the length of the staircase, the number of bends and the individual rail required.

We’ll explain the suitable options and give you a clear, no-obligation quotation before you decide.

NARROW STAIRLIFTS?

Can a Stairlift Be Fitted to Narrow Stairs in Old Trafford?

In many cases, yes. If you have a narrow staircase in your Old Trafford home, it doesn’t automatically mean you can’t have a stairlift. Compact models are available for tighter spaces, with folding seats, arms and footrests helping to leave more room on the stairs when the lift isn’t being used.

The available width, staircase layout and space at the top and bottom all need to be considered. During your free home survey, we’ll measure your staircase properly and check which options can be fitted safely while still leaving suitable access for other people using the stairs.

If your staircase is particularly narrow or awkward, we’ll explain what’s possible and recommend the most suitable option rather than trying to make the wrong stairlift fit.

STAIRLIFT ADVICE

Stairlift FAQs for Old Trafford Homes

Everything you need to know before buying or renting a stairlift in Old Trafford.

Choosing a stairlift often comes with plenty of questions, especially if you’ve never had to arrange one before. From prices and installation times to narrow staircases, rental options and choosing between new and reconditioned models, we’ve answered some of the questions we’re most often asked by customers in Old Trafford.

Every home and staircase is different, so if you can’t find the answer you need, we’re happy to help.

Give us a call on 0800 093 6117 or book a free home survey and we can talk through your options with you. There’s no obligation and no high-pressure sales.

How much does a stairlift cost in Old Trafford?

Our reconditioned straight stairlifts cost £1,100 and new straight stairlifts cost £2,100. Reconditioned curved stairlifts start from £4,000, while new curved stairlifts start from £6,000.

Curved stairlift prices vary because the rail needs to suit the individual staircase, including its length, bends and layout. We offer a free home survey in Old Trafford so we can assess your staircase and give you a clear quotation before you decide.

How long does stairlift installation take in Old Trafford?

The installation time depends on the type of stairlift and staircase. A straightforward installation will generally be quicker than a more complex curved stairlift installation.

We’ll explain what is involved before the work begins and professionally fit the stairlift with as little disruption to your home as possible. Once installed, we’ll also show you how to use it safely and make sure you’re comfortable with the controls before we leave.

Can a stairlift be fitted to narrow stairs in an Old Trafford home?

Often, yes. Compact stairlifts are available for narrower staircases, with folding seats, arms and footrests helping to reduce the space the lift takes up when it isn’t being used.

During your free home survey we’ll measure the staircase, check the available space and assess access at the top and bottom. We can then explain which stairlift options are suitable for your particular staircase.

Are stairlifts battery powered?

Most modern stairlifts operate using rechargeable batteries, with the stairlift charging when it is parked at its charging point. This means the lift is not relying directly on mains electricity while travelling along the rail.

The exact charging arrangement depends on the stairlift supplied. We’ll explain how your particular model works when it is installed, including where it should normally be left so that it remains charged and ready to use.

Can I buy a reconditioned stairlift in Old Trafford?

Yes. We supply reconditioned stairlifts as an alternative to buying new. A reconditioned straight stairlift currently costs £1,100, while reconditioned curved stairlifts start from £4,000.

The right option depends on your staircase, requirements and budget. We’ll explain the available choices during your free home survey so you can compare reconditioned and new stairlifts before deciding.

Can I rent a stairlift in Old Trafford?

Yes. Stairlift rental can be a useful option if you only need a stairlift for a period of time or would prefer not to purchase one outright.

Our stairlift rental costs £600, which includes installation and the first three months’ rental. After that, rental is £60 per month for as long as you need the stairlift, with free removal when it is no longer required.

Do you install curved stairlifts in Old Trafford?

Yes. Curved stairlifts are designed for staircases with bends, turns or intermediate landings where a standard straight stairlift isn’t suitable.

Because every curved staircase is different, the rail needs to follow the individual shape and layout of the stairs. We’ll measure your staircase during the home survey and explain the suitable options and exact price. Reconditioned curved stairlifts currently start from £4,000 and new curved stairlifts from £6,000.

Will installing a stairlift damage my stairs or walls?

A stairlift is normally fitted to the staircase rather than attached to the wall. The rail is securely fixed to the stairs using mounting points designed for the installation, so major alterations to your home are not normally required.

We’ll assess the staircase during your home survey and explain exactly how the stairlift will be fitted before any work takes place.

What happens if my stairlift needs servicing or support?

Our relationship doesn’t end once your stairlift has been installed. Top Flight Stairlifts provides ongoing servicing and support, so there is someone to contact if your stairlift needs attention in the future.

We’ll also explain the warranty and aftercare applicable to your particular stairlift when discussing your options, so you know what support is included before you buy.

How do I choose the best stairlift company in Old Trafford?

Look for a stairlift company that takes the time to assess your staircase and understand the person who will actually be using the lift before recommending a product. It’s also worth asking about installation, warranties, servicing and what support is available afterwards.

Top Flight Stairlifts is an independent, family-run stairlift company established in 2009. We offer free home surveys in Old Trafford, explain the suitable options clearly and don’t use high-pressure sales tactics. Our aim is to help you choose the stairlift that’s right for your home, needs and budget.
