Considering a used stairlift?

A properly reconditioned model gives you more reassurance than buying second-hand privately or as-is. We’ll assess your staircase during a free home survey, explain the suitable options and give you a clear, no-obligation price.

HOW WE RECONDITION

What Happens to a Second-Hand Stairlift?

A second-hand stairlift shouldn’t simply be removed from one home and fitted in another. Every Top Flight reconditioned stairlift goes through a thorough preparation process before it is offered for installation.

STRIPPED DOWN

We Assess the Stairlift

The stairlift is stripped down so its condition and components can be properly assessed before it is prepared for reuse.

2

REBUILT & SERVICED

Reconditioned

Each unit is rebuilt and fully serviced, preparing the stairlift for safe, reliable use in its next home.

3

FULLY TESTED

Tested to New Standards

Every reconditioned stairlift is thoroughly checked and tested to the same standards as a new stairlift before being approved for installation.

4

SUPPLIED & FITTED

Ready for Your Home

Once we’ve confirmed the right stairlift for your staircase, our team will professionally install it and fully test it again before we leave.

Every reconditioned stairlift includes a 12-month warranty and service.

RECONDITIONED STAIRLIFTS IN M9

Choosing a Reconditioned Stairlift in Collyhurst.

Choosing a reconditioned stairlift in Collyhurst depends on the layout of your staircase. Many homes have straight staircases, which are straightforward to fit with a second-hand stairlift. However, some properties feature bends, turns, or intermediate landings that may require a curved model. The available space on landings can also influence the type of stairlift suitable for your home. During a free home survey, we assess these aspects to determine whether a reconditioned straight or curved stairlift is appropriate. Every staircase is different, and the suitability of a used stairlift will depend on its features and your specific needs.

Reconditioned stairlifts in Collyhurst offer a more affordable alternative to buying new. They are fully stripped down, rebuilt, serviced and tested to high standards before installation. This ensures reliability and safety while keeping costs lower. Costs start from £1,100 for straight models and from £4,000 for curved ones. It’s important to note that not all used stairlifts will fit every staircase perfectly—this can only be confirmed after our assessment. We recommend arranging a free survey so we can identify the best solution for your home’s layout and your requirements.

As an independent reconditioned stairlift supplier covering Collyhurst, we offer professionally prepared straight and curved options, free home surveys and ongoing support from our own team.

What affects the price of a reconditioned stairlift?

The cost of a reconditioned stairlift in Collyhurst will depend mainly on whether you need a straight or curved model, the staircase itself and the suitable stairlift available.

Straight reconditioned stairlifts start from £1,100 supplied and fitted, while reconditioned curved stairlifts start from £4,000. Your free home survey allows us to check your staircase, explain the suitable options and give you a clear price before you make any decision.

SAFETY & RELIABILITY

Are Reconditioned Stairlifts Safe & Reliable?

A professionally reconditioned stairlift can provide the reliability and reassurance you would expect from a stairlift installed in your home. At Top Flight, we don’t simply remove a used stairlift from one property and fit it into another. Each stairlift is stripped down and professionally rebuilt and serviced before being thoroughly tested. We test our reconditioned stairlifts to the same standards as new before approving them for installation. We’ll also check the stairlift after fitting and make sure you’re comfortable with its controls and safety features before we leave.

A lower price shouldn’t mean lowering your expectations of how a stairlift is prepared. That’s why Top Flight professionally reconditions the stairlifts we supply rather than simply selling used equipment as-is.

NEW OR RECONDITIONED?

Should I Buy a New or Reconditioned Stairlift?

For many people, a reconditioned stairlift offers an excellent balance between price, reliability and professional installation.

You may prefer a new stairlift if you want a brand-new unit, require a particular model or feature, or if the right reconditioned model isn’t available for your staircase.

Your free home survey gives us the opportunity to assess your staircase and explain both new and reconditioned options where appropriate.

Can I buy a second-hand or reconditioned stairlift in Collyhurst?

Yes. Top Flight supplies and professionally installs reconditioned stairlifts in Collyhurst. Our reconditioned stairlifts are previously owned units that have been professionally prepared for their next home. Every unit is stripped down, rebuilt, serviced and thoroughly tested before installation. We’ll assess your staircase during a free home survey and explain the suitable reconditioned options available.

What's the difference between a used, second-hand (2nd hand) and reconditioned stairlift?

The terms used stairlift and second-hand stairlift simply mean that the stairlift has had a previous owner. Reconditioned describes what happens to the stairlift before it is supplied again. At Top Flight, a reconditioned stairlift isn’t simply sold in its existing condition. It is stripped down, rebuilt, serviced and thoroughly tested before being approved for installation. This gives you the cost-saving benefit of buying previously owned equipment with the reassurance of professional preparation and fitting.

How much does a reconditioned stairlift cost in Collyhurst?

Our reconditioned straight stairlifts start from £1,100, fully supplied and fitted, including a 12-month warranty and service. Reconditioned curved stairlifts start from £4,000. The exact price depends on your staircase and the stairlift required. Your free home survey allows us to assess your stairs, explain the suitable options and give you a clear price before you make a decision.

Are reconditioned stairlifts safe and reliable?

Yes. Every Top Flight reconditioned stairlift is stripped down, rebuilt, serviced and thoroughly tested before installation. Our reconditioned stairlifts are tested to the same standards as a new stairlift. As with any stairlift, correct use and regular servicing are important for keeping it working safely and reliably. We’ll also check the stairlift after installation and show you how to use it before we leave.

What does the 12-month warranty cover?

Every Top Flight reconditioned stairlift comes with a 12-month warranty and service included. The warranty covers major breakdowns. Cosmetic breakages are not included and are charged at a £90 callout plus the cost of any required parts. We also provide a 24-hour callout service for additional reassurance.

How quickly can a reconditioned stairlift be fitted?

Once we’ve surveyed your staircase and confirmed the suitable stairlift, installation can often be arranged quickly. Next-day fitting is available in some circumstances, although this will depend on the stairlift required and availability. We’ll explain the likely timescale when we assess your staircase rather than promising an installation date before we know what you need.

Can I buy a second-hand curved stairlift?

Yes. Top Flight supplies reconditioned curved stairlifts as well as straight models. Reconditioned curved stairlifts currently start from £4,000.

A curved stairlift requires a rail made to fit the individual staircase, so we’ll need to survey your stairs first. This allows us to measure the bends, turns and landings and confirm the suitable curved stairlift and exact price.

Can a reconditioned stairlift be fitted on narrow stairs?

It may be possible, but the width and layout of the staircase need to be assessed first. We also need to consider the space available for the user and other people who need to use the stairs. During your free home survey, we’ll measure the staircase and determine whether a suitable reconditioned stairlift is available. If it isn’t, we’ll explain the other stairlift options that may be more appropriate.

Should I buy a reconditioned stairlift or rent one in Collyhurst?

If you expect to need a stairlift for the longer term, buying a reconditioned model can offer an affordable alternative to buying new.

If you only expect to need the stairlift temporarily, renting may be worth considering instead. We’ll explain both options during your free home survey so you can decide which is more suitable for your circumstances.
