Grants for Stairlifts

Stairlift Grants in the UK

Grants for stairlifts may cover all, or part, of the costs of installation. These are known as Disabled Facilities Grants, and they do not affect any other benefits the customer is entitled to. The amount of grant will depend on your household income and the amount of savings held by the household. Savings in excess of £6,000 may mean the customer is ineligible for assistance with costs. If the stairlift is required by a disabled child under eighteen years of age, then the parents’ income is not taken into consideration at all. The customer must either own their home or be a tenant, and intending to live in the property for at least another five years to qualify. A landlord can apply on behalf of a tenant, but must give permission for the installation.
